YMCA Aquatics & Youth Department
NEW! FULL TIME AQUATICS & YOUTH PROGRAM COORDINATOR


Develops, organizes and implements high quality, member-focused YMCA aquatic and youth programs. Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. One to two years related experience preferred. Completion of Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid Certification required within 30 days of hire. This is a full-time, salary position.

YMCA Kinetics Department
NEW! FULL TIME KINETICS PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Under the Kinetics Coordinator’s supervision help develop, organize and implement high quality gymnastic/cheerleading/acrobatic programs. The preferred candidate will spend approximately 85% of their time teaching, with the balance of their time devoted to daily operations and building a top-notch team of individuals who are 100% committed to providing outstanding customer service. This position supports the work and mission of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, health living and social responsibility. YMCA Wellness Department

  • Wellness Coordinator -


    The position of Wellness Coordinator requires a background that includes both formal training and practical experience in the areas of health and fitness, at least 2 years of professional YMCA experience, and professional skills in managing one’s self and others. The Wellness Coordinator must be a mature person with excellent verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm, and be able to engage readily with various groups and maintain an effective working relationship with YMCA staff, members, and volunteers. The Wellness Coordinator must be qualified to teach group exercise and other health and wellness classes as needed and be able to manage the multi-faceted physical programs/services to achieve strategic objectives. •  Full-time lead pre-k teacher

The Pre-K Lead Teacher is responsible for carrying out the day to day classroom instruction using the program’s curriculum and Ohio’s Early Learning and Development standards. Responsible for planning and leading classroom activities, assessment of children, snack and meal service, and communicating effectively with the children, their parents, and other YMCA staff members. Teacher will work cooperatively with the classroom assistant for optimal success of all learners.

· Maintain safe and secure environment for children, being aware of child activities at all times.

· Work as a team member with other staff.

· Prepare lesson plans and maintain a learning environment with developmentally appropriate activities.

· Provide for the care of the physical and emotional needs of the children using positive reinforcement.

· Foster independence, and act as a role model for children.

· Communicate effectively with children, their parents, and other YMCA staff.

· Maintain confidentiality and professionalism; uphold the Y’s core values.

Experience/Certification Required:

· An understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior and development.

· Specific knowledge in developmentally appropriate practices for the age group.

· Warm and friendly personality and the desire to work directly with young children.

· Must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or 4-year degree; previous experience is preferred, but not required.

· Meet ODJFS licensing qualifications.
