YMCA Aquatics Department
NEW! FULL TIME AQUATICS COORDINATOR


Develops, organizes and implements high quality, member-focused YMCA aquatic programs. Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. One to two years related experience preferred. Completion of Lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid Certification required within 30 days of hire. This is a full-time, hourly position.

YMCA Kinetics Department
NEW! FULL TIME KINETICS PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Under the Kinetics Coordinator’s supervision help develop, organize and implement high quality gymnastic/cheerleading/acrobatic programs. The preferred candidate will spend approximately 85% of their time teaching, with the balance of their time devoted to daily operations and building a top-notch team of individuals who are 100% committed to providing outstanding customer service. This position supports the work and mission of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, health living and social responsibility.   • Coaches/Instructors/Assistants. All candidates should possess a positive attitude and a desire for excellence. Experience in gymnastics, tumbling desired; job requirements include spotting and technical efficiency in gymnastics/tumbling. Salary range depends on experience.

YMCA Wellness Department
 
Part-time positions available for:
  • The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic mission driven Wellness Center Coach/Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for engaging people of all ages to build relationships and help each individual to reach their health and wellness goals. The Wellness Center Coach/Trainer is a part-time position with morning and evening shifts available. Certifications are a plus but not required as the Y will provide training to the right candidate.   • The Wellness Department is seeking group exercise class instructor experience who desire to positively impact people’s lives. • Part Time Morning Receptionist                          

6:30am - 11am - answer phones, help answer parent questions. Must be customer service oriented and good with children. Must be willing to assist with children in the classroom for short periods of time. Walking with groups to assist them in safely getting outside or other places in the building may be needed.                           

Full Time Preschool Assistant Teacher Position 

Maintain a safe and secure environment for children, being aware of child activities at all times. Work as a team member with other staff. Provide for the care of the physical and emotional needs of the children using positive reinforcement. Foster independence, and act as a role model for children. Communicate effectively with children, their parents, and other YMCA staff. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism; uphold the Y’s core values.

Position requirements:

· An understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior and development.

· Specific knowledge in developmentally appropriate practices for the age group.

· Warm and friendly personality and the desire to work directly with young children.

Must have a high school degree or equivalent. One-year or more of experience with children preferred. Meet ODJFS licensing qualifications.

M - F with a willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Must be at least 18 years of age and possess high school diploma or GED.


YMCA Child Watch 
Part-time position available.  Engage with children ages infant through 6 years old through creative play while their parents work out!

Days & hours available are:

  • Mon, Tues, Thrs. & Friday 8:15 am to 11:30 am

  • Sat’s. 8:15 am to 11:30 am

  • Part-Time Welcome Center—responsible for providing excellent services to YMCA members and other individuals at the Member Services Desk. Days & hours available are:

    • Sat. 8am – 1pm or 1pm to 5pm

    • Mon – Fri - 3pm – 6pm AND/OR

    • Mon – Fri – 6pm – 9pm
