The Y Child Development Center recognizes and values each child as a unique individual who should be encouraged to explore new experiences at his or her own pace. This is accomplished in a warm, secure, play-centered environment that provides a balance of developmental activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

The Child Development Center:

All child care staff are fully screened in accordance with the Ohio Department of Children and Youth licensing requirements (license #402014, #2220026920, #2260034023). In addition to professional education training provided in degree programs, all employee screening and training includes: fingerprinting, background check, references, health statement, Communicable Disease Recognition & Prevention, Child Abuse Recognition & Prevention, infant/child/adult CPR, First Aid, and continuing education in early childhood development training.
Nationally recognized curriculums, including Creative Curriculum and Heggerty Phonemic Awareness
YMCA Character Development program teaching values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
Indoor and Outdoor Gross Motor Activities
The center is inclusive and offers care for children of all races, religions, nationalities and abilities as long as we are able to adequately provide for their needs alongside the needs of our other children.

Financial assistance is available, for those who qualify, through funding by Shelby County United Way, the YMCA Community Partners Program, local businesses, and the Ohio Department of Children and Youth.

The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA is a non-profit, community-based, health and human services organization committed to helping people achieve their full potential in spirit, mind and body. The YMCA’s doors are open to people of all ages, abilities, incomes, races, and religions.

The YOUR Plan (financial assistance) program follows a sliding fee scale, designed to fit each individual’s financial situation*. In order to foster a sense of ownership in the Y, you will be asked to pay some portion of the fees. *Individuals with a special circumstances, such as a job loss or other financial challenges, are also encouraged to apply for assistance.

The funds available for Your Own Unique Plan are made possible through the generosity of our members and donors through the Community Partners Annual Support Campaign.

TO APPLY: Download and print the application and return it, along with all required documentation, to the Welcome Center. Please note on page two of this application you must select the type of child care assistance you are requesting. You may also use this same application to apply for a membership if you wish.

In order to provide financial assistance in a fair and consistent manner, the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA requires that individuals provide the requested information, on the financial assistance application, regarding income, family size, and expenses. All personal information is kept confidential. The Y will review assistance eligibility on an annual basis. All financial assistance recipients must re-apply each year and fees are subject to change year to year. If you do not re-apply when requested, your enrollment will be terminated.

To process your application, we need the following information:

A copy of the most recent years tax return
A copy of your last two (2) pay stubs/LES (military)
A copy of any financial support through social security or disability
A copy of any documentation of any Federal Assistance such as Food Stamps, Welfare, Rent Subsidy or Aid to Dependent Children
A copy of any child support agreement

Note: If you do not have a copy of your tax return, you may obtain one by calling the Internal Revenue Service. If you did not file taxes last year, or if you do not have other documents required, please submit a letter explaining your personal situation.

A Y Director will determine financial assistance eligibility after thoroughly reviewing your application. Your application will not be processed until all required documents are provided. Please allow two to three weeks for processing. Upon approval of your application, a letter will be sent to you informing you of your approval and will list the amount of your portion of the fee.

Scholarships are awarded to Shelby County residents on a first-come, first-serve basis, subject to available funds and eligibility. If applying for child care financial assistance, you must be working or attending school full time. Documentation is required.

INFANT/TODDLER

The YMCA Child Development Center Infant/Toddler program focuses on fundamental early learning skills.

PRESCHOOL

Children ages 3-5 years AND potty-trained
$164/week with a family membership to the Sidney Y; $219/week without a family membership to the Sidney Y

Complete, licensed preschool program with qualified teachers and nationally recognized curriculums
Play-based learning in a changing environment promote well-rounded growth and learning opportunities focused on:

Swimming lessons where possible
Outside play and exploration
Daily balanced breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack

SCHOOL AGE

Transportation Serving:

- Balanced breakfast, lunch (on full days), and snack
- Transportation to and from Sidney City Schools, Christian Academy, Holy Angels, Hardin-Houston Schools, and Jackson Center Schools available for registered students when school is in session
- Activities focused on:
  - Developing core values
  - Encouraging positive behaviors and healthy habits
  - Practicing problem-solving and social skills
  - Establishing a positive self-image
  - Creativity through music, art, and STEM
  - Outside play and exploration
- Extended care on delay and early dismissal days.
- Full Day Fun Days on most no-school days, including unexpected cancellations.
- An EPIC Summer Camp that adds weekly field trips, swimming, special activities, and/or guest speakers for even more fun and development!

		Before and After School Program: $100/week with a family membership to the Sidney Y; $171/week without a family membership to the Sidney Y; note that it includes extended care on delay, early dismissal, and no-school days.
		Drop-in Days: $30/day with a family membership to the Sidney Y; $50/day without a family membership to the Sidney Y; note that it does not include transportation and students must be pre-registered.
		Summer Camp: $165/week with a family membership to the Sidney Y; $255/week without a family membership to the Sidney Y
