The Y Child Development Center offers care for children ages six weeks to 12 years through a wide variety of age appropriate and developmentally appropriate activities designed to encourage social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth in each individual child. Two campuses offer opportunities to create, explore, discover and try new ideas take place in a safe, healthy environment. Our Parkwood Location (300 E. Parkwood St.) of the Y Child Development Center has earned a GOLD rating with Ohio’s Step Up to Quality- the highest rating available for quality of care and education.  Our Fair Haven Location (2901 Fair Rd.) of the Y Child Development Center has earned a SILVER rating with Ohio’s Step Up to Quality.  Click here to see where both locations are on a map.

The Y recognizes and values children as unique individuals and encourages them to develop problem solving and social skills as they form a positive self image, and to learn and to grow at their own developmental pace.

 

The Child Development Center:

  • Licensed facility through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, #402014 (Parkwood); #2220026920 (Fair Haven)
  • Creative Curriculum - for infant, toddler, and preschool children

All child care staff are fully screened in accordance with the Ohio Department of Children and Youth licensing requirements (license #402014, #2220026920). Screening and training includes: fingerprinting, background check, references, health physical, Communicable Disease Recognition & Prevention, Child Abuse Recognition & Prevention, infant/child/adult CPR, First Aid, and continuing education in early childhood development training.

Our Before and After Care program serves children in Kindergarten through age 12 and provides transportation to and from Christian Academy, Holy Angels, and Sidney City Schools for students enrolled at our Parkwood location OR bussing to Hardin-Houston Schools for students enrolled at our Fair Haven location.

 

Children dropped off in the morning will be served breakfast.  Children that come to the program after school will be served a healthy snack. There are also full day options for no school days (holidays, teacher work days and snow days).
