GYMNASTICS

A Message to Parents
Brain growth is stimulated by use for children ages two to six with completion of development by the age of seven. A program of physical activity into a child’s life can strongly influence the process of brain growth and neurological organization. The classes offered by the Gymnastics Department are specifically designed to stimulate intellectual growth as well as physical development. Our program ensures that each child gets the opportunity to achieve his or her potential.

Gymnastics is progressive by nature. Classes build on top of one another. It is very important to understand that it takes time to develop strength, flexibility and coordination to achieve the skills necessary to advance to the next level. Gymnastics takes time, patience, repetition and love for the sport in order to excel. Success in gymnastics is measured in small steps.

PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS PROGRAMS

Parent & Child:  Our parent and Child classes offer an opportunity for baby and a parent/guardian to bond while providing movement experiences that promote their motor skill development through fundamental gymnastics movements.  Parent participation is encouraged but not required.

Preschool Gymnastics:  Preschool beginner and preschool advanced classes focus on developing skills while having fun and making new friends.  Skills progress from working and socializing with others, proper body positions, handstands, cartwheels, and other advanced locomotive skills on the floor along with apparatus work (beam, vault, and bars).

Early Explorers Drop In Gymnastics for Parent/Child & Preschool: A great way for tots and preschoolers age 10 months to 5 years to socialize and work on large motor skills in the gymnastics gym. A parent or guardian must participate with the child. A gymnastics coach is on hand to help guide and maintain safety.
